5/1/14 May Tarpon Fishing Report in Islamorada

May is here and so are the tarpon!  The big schools that we have seen the last few days are still here and chewing.  Happy fish and big boys too.  Channel 2 bridge has been loaded with fish as of late.  Today we caught 4 out of 5 large fish most over 100 lbs, including a 150 lb behemoth!  Live mullet was the ticket, very exciting bites on the surface baits.  We had several other ‘cheap shots’ too it was a sight to see.  Incoming tide with the hard southeast wind has the water a perfect misty blue color and the fish are chewing.  It should be good the next few days still.  Great start to May hopefully the fish stick around through the early summer!
