Got out with Sun and John for a half day. We had all kinds of fun with snook, redfish, big snappers, and goliath groupers. It was really incredible fishing on our pilchards. But we also found a few baby tarpon rolling around! Pitched a few baits to them, and we managed to hook a couple. One broke off but we got the other one landed. So a backcountry slam for Sun! Also we just dropped the latest Bud n’ Mary’s YouTube show so check it out!

Got out for a full day doing a TV show with the Fish Guyz, Capt. George Clark and Capt. Lain Goodwin. We mixed it up catching a bunch of snook and a few redfish early on to start. We then looked for some baby tarpon and found a good handful. Gave it some time and we Capt. Lain caught a couple one of which we got out of the water since he was little and good shots for the TV show. We then caught some more snook and a small goliath grouper. Very good day and fun filming with those guys, I’ll let everyone know when the show airs.
Haven’t been doing much other tarpon fishing this month. The fishing for reds, snook, drum, etc… has been stellar and been getting into some bigger fish too of those species. I have quite a few days open now through into November. It’s an awesome time to fish, although tarpon fishing may not be the greatest it can definitely still be worthwhile, but the other options are very good. 9/29/19 – Been tough to keep up with things lately and forgot to post. But we had a great day fishing a 3/4 day in the everglades with kevin & kevin. We had great action with snook, a few juvenile goliath groupers, a couple redfish, and topped it off with a nice 15 lb tarpon! Spectacular fishing on a windy day. 1 for 1
10/5/19 – Got out with Alan and Glen today for a full day. We mixed it up a bit and got lucky and got a tarpon right off the bait, a bit unexpectedly on our jig and shrimp. But there were some rolling around and we got in the right spot! After that we caught some nice black drum, a few big snook, a handful of redfish, and then as many smaller snook as you could shake a stick at. Good fishing again! 1 for 1
I have not been focusing 100% on tarpon too much, really seems that i’ve had the best luck fishing for other things and getting the chance tarpon bite. When ya go all in I’ve just not had as much luck for whatever reason. But fishing is stellar none the less if you are up for a mixed bag with a chance at tarpon!
