Fished around town today for the tarpon. We caught bait good early this morning. Had weak tides to start I tried a local channel with the last wee bit of falling tide but did not see any fish. We ran down the road and check a few spots – very weedy. At the bridges finally the tide started rolling and we saw some fish. Had a couple bites and few cheap shots in about a 30 minute window, and then the weed got horrendous and made it almost unfishable. We ran back near home and set up with the dead baits and got a nice 65 lb on the bottom. Went and bent the small rods with some snapper and such to finish the day. Departing early tomorrow morning so we’ll have a couple hours of falling tide to fish. You can see how bad the weed was while we were fighting this fish!
